Quincy High School is a comprehensive high school that serves over 750 students and is located in Grant County Washington http://goo.gl/maps/j6YR.
The facility was renovated in 1998 and has a Performing Arts Center, two gymnasiums, wrestling facility as well as excellent outdoor athletic facilities that provide opportunities for our students to engage in a variety of extracurricular activities. Although Quincy is primarily an agricultural community it has a rapidly growing data center industry, Yahoo, Dell, Sabey, Microsoft and Intuit now call Quincy home.
As our world becomes more diverse our schools must respond to be able to provide students the education they will need to be part of the global economy. Our comprehensive curriculum is designed to prepare students for success after high school by developing the skills and knowledge needed for the changing demands of the 21st century world and work place. This past year we added a firefighting skills class as part of our Career and Technical Education Departmental offerings. This partnership with Grant County Fire will allow 11th and 12th grade students to develop the skills to become a professional firefighter. Another new partnership we have developed is with Eastern Washington University and Central Washington University which will allow 11th and 12th grade students to take college classes while in high school. This year we will be offering English Literature and Composition as well as Biology, and U.S. History along with Weight training and Fitness. All of these classes are offered tuition free as part of our partnership with EWU and CWU. We will be adding more college credit classes in the coming year towards our goal of offering students the opportunity to earn a full year of college credit while still attending high school.
This year we rejoin the Central Washington Athletic League ( CWAC) and renew old rivalries with Othello, Ellensburg, East Valley, Grandview, Prosser, Selah, Toppenish, Wapato and of course our arch rivals the Ephrata Tigers! I encourage all of you to watch our athletes compete as we compete in the 2A classification, it should be an exciting year for the Jacks!
Parents play a vital role in their students’ success in school and we encourage parents to participate in a variety of opportunities. We are always looking for parents to serve on our Learning Improvement Team, Booster club and serve on interview committees. We look forward to welcoming everyone back. Come join us to find out how we can work together to provide the highest quality education for our students.
