Senior Local Scholarships

QUINCY HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

The below scholarships are available to graduating seniors of the Quincy School District.

Each scholarship is described in detail. The sponsoring group may change the award at any time. Each sponsoring group establishes their own ground rules for the selection of award winners.

All scholarships list the due date and have instructions on how to submit the application. Late applications will not be accepted. If additional information is required you are encouraged to contact the donors of the scholarship or a Counselor.

The Quincy School District #144-101 complies with all federal rules and regulations and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or handicap. This holds true for all students who are interested in participating in educational programs and/or extracurricular school activities. Inquiries regarding compliance procedures may be directed to the school district's superintendent.


HOW TO PREPARE YOUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

A completed scholarship application packet should be typed. You may use photocopies of letters of recommendation and of your official transcript. Put each packet together in the following order unless the scholarship states otherwise.
 
Page 1 - Cover Page (Name of scholarship & your name)
Page 2 - Scholarship Application
Page 3 – Goal Statement Essay
Page 4 – Resume/Activity List
Page 5 – Transcript
Page 6-8 - Three Letters of Recommendation (2 Staff & 1 Community Member)

Deadlines:
  • Thursday February 15th at 3:30pm
    •  Deadline to request transcripts to ensure request is fulfilled before February 23, 2024.

Additional Hints
Read scholarship descriptions carefully – you won’t qualify for all of them.
 

Check deadlines on all applications – make sure your application will arrive at the final destination before the deadline.

Follow the application instructions; read instructions again when putting the application together to be sure you have everything. Not doing so will cost you a scholarship.

Rotary Application – be sure to check which scholarship(s) you are applying for. They will throw it away if you don’t.

Ask for recommendation letters several weeks before the deadline. Be polite and appreciative, these letters are very time consuming. Be sure to send a thank you.

2024 GENERIC SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:

All of the below scholarships use the same Generic Scholarship Application
 
Four $500 scholarships for Quincy High School graduating seniors with leadership abilities.
 
One $1,000 scholarship to a Quincy High School graduating senior who is going to further their education at a college or vocational school.
 
One $1,500 scholarship for a Quincy School District graduating senior athlete based on need and high school activities.
 
One $1,000 scholarship to a Quincy High School graduating senior. A minimum 2.5 GPA required. Based on need and high school activities.
 
MARIO J. GUZMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - Due February 23, 2024
One $1,000 scholarship to a Quincy High School graduating senior.

 


QUINCY ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION:

All of the below scholarships are listed on the Quincy Rotary Scholarships Application. Complete only one Rotary application. Be sure to check which scholarship(s) you are applying for.
 
 
CECYL PETRIE/SYLVIA WEBER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - Due February 23, 2024
One $500 scholarship for a Quincy High School graduating senior. Must be pursuing a degree in education.
 
DRU GIMLIN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - Due February 23, 2024
$750 scholarship to one male and one female athlete - team managers will also be considered. Applicants must have participated in Quincy High School sports for a minimum of two years. A minimum 2.8 GPA required.
 
MURRAY MICHAEL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - Due February 23, 2024
One $500 scholarship for a Quincy School District graduating senior. Must be continuing their education in the Fine Arts. A minimum 3.0 GPA required.
 
QUINCY ROTARY ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP - Due February 23, 2024
Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to any Quincy School District graduating senior pursuing continued education at a college or university.
 
QUINCY ROTARY VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP - Due February 23, 2024
One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to any Quincy School District graduating senior pursuing continued education at a vocational school.
 
THE CLEO & RITA THAEMERT AGRICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND - Due February 23, 2024
$1,000 scholarship to a Quincy School District senior pursuing continued education in a field related to agriculture.
 
 

INDIVIDUAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS:

All of the below scholarships have different applications.
 
One $1,000 scholarship for a Quincy High School graduating senior pursuing post-secondary education.
 
One $500 scholarship for a Quincy High School male or female who participated in one or more sports at Quincy High School.
 
Complete one application to apply for numerous scholarships (athletic, education, agriculture, learning disabilities, math, science, minority, automotive, welding, aviation, computer science, medical assistance & many generic scholarships offered).
 
BUENROSTRO FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP - Due February 24, 2024
Two $500 scholarships open to Quincy High School graduating seniors. Applicants must plan to attend a college, university, or trade school and have parents that work in the agriculture industry. Based on need and essay quality.
 
The Columbia Basin Foundation offers numerous scholarships to Quincy School District graduating seniors.
 
JACKS GIVING BACK - Due February 26, 2024
One $500 scholarship open to Quincy School District graduating seniors. A minimum 3.0 GPA required. Based on community service, financial need, essay responses and academic success demonstrated. Student must maintain a 2.5 college GPA.
 
Open to students graduating from high schools in Grant County going to 2 year, 4 year, or vocational schools in the State of Washington.
 
$500 scholarship for Quincy High School graduating seniors. Scholarship will be credited after the student has satisfactorily completed the first quarter or semester of continuing education in a post secondary school.
 
Two $250 scholarships to Quincy High School graduating seniors who have participated in any aspect of the performing arts (music, dance, theater, etc).
 
Two or Three $1,000 scholarships for a Quincy High School graduating senior to be used for tuition or fees at the college, university or vocational school of the student’s choice.
 
One $1,000 scholarship for Quincy High School graduating senior pursuing post-secondary education.
